With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Rita Camaille (Chalmette, Louisiana), who passed away on January 9, 2025 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Rita may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.
She was predeceased by: her husband Leonard Camaille; her sister Jean; her brother-in-law Melvin Boleware; and her parents, Elise Tamor and Frank Samrow.
She is survived by: her daughter Angela Camaille (Joseph Pintado); her brother Frank Samrow, Jr. (Janice Samrow); and her caregiver Troy Atwell.
To honor her memory, the family asks that donations be made in Rita's name to the Louisiana SPCA, a cause dear to her heart.
