It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Edmond Cortes of Chalmette, Louisiana, born in New Orleans, Louisiana, who passed away on May 3, 2022, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Wallace Charles Cortes Sr. and Melba Manshardt Cortes; and his sister-in-law Mary Lee Cortes. He is survived by: his children, Dawn Cortes and Jamie Cortes; his grandchild Kiersten Cortes; and his siblings, Wallace Cortes Jr., Andrea Farris, Wayne Cortes (Kathy) and Gary Cortes (Valerie). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
