It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Edward Eugene Smith Sr. of Chalmette, Louisiana, born in Petal, Mississippi, who passed away on January 24, 2021, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Van Eugene and Mattie Marie Frost Smith; his siblings, Flonnie Lee Smith Bradshaw, Marilyn Smith, Richard Gerald Smith and Jackie Don Smith; and his great grandchild Ava Cameron Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Catherine Burns Smith; his children, Eddie Smith, Jr. (Wanda) and Candy Smith (Mike); his grandchildren, Eddie Smith III, Shavon Ryan, Matt Smith (Brandie), Taylor McLain (Dalton), Chase Ryan, Michael Smith Jr., Samantha Smith and Jacob Smith; and his great grandchildren, Ella-Rose Smith, Maison McLain, Avery Smith, Emerson Smith, Luke Smith and Brooks McLain.
