It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dwight Douglas Merkl (Chalmette, Louisiana), born in New Orleans, Louisiana, who passed away on December 29, 2023, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Ivor Merkl and Mary Dellande Merkl; and his brothers, Charlie Merkl (Annie) and Pete Merkl (Irene). He is survived by: his brother Michael "Chris" Merkl (Marilynn); his nieces, Theresa (James), Gina (Gary), Rachel (Will) and Mandy (Ronnie); and his nephew Paul (Aimee).
