It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Jean Kroeper Showalter (Chalmette, Louisiana), who passed away on January 24, 2025, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband William Gerald Showalter; and her parents, Inez Lods Kroeper and George Henry Kroeper. She is survived by: her brother Albert George Kroeper (Eva Cowan Kroeper); her children, William "Billy" Gerald Showalter Jr. (Kim Mull Raimer), Robert "Robby" Edward Showalter (Susan Sentilles Showalter), Richard "Ricky" James Showalter (Laura Triche Showalter), Michael "Mike" John Showalter (Vicki Strezlec Showalter), Albert "Zippy" Charles Showalter (Pamela Lopreore Showalter), Betty "Kay" Showalter Franatovich (late Danny Albert Franatovich) and George Hardy Showalter (Tammy Morrison Showalter); her nieces, Georgia Kroeper Saucier (Bob Saucier), Alison Kroeper Arnold (Larry Arnold) and Jamie Kroeper Macheca (Johnny Macheca); and her daughter-in-law Susan Lae Showalter.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 5th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home (701 W Virtue St, Chalmette, LA 70043). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 5th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers a donation to Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church is appreciated.
