He was predeceased by: his parents, Wade Cole and Julia Cole; his former wife Gloria Cole; his grandson Michael Cole; and his brother Wilbur "Baby" Cole.

He is survived by: his wife Arlene; his brothers, Percy Cole (Sandra) and Gerald Cole; and his children, Don Cole (Judy), Denise Owen, Darcyle Cole, Darryle Cole Pam (Jorgegina), Patty VanDerbeek (Glenn) and Connie Carey (Jerry). He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
