He was predeceased by: his parents, Welborn Clifton "Cliff" and Irene Knotts; his wife Betty Jean Cheatwood Knotts; his daughter Kirsten Lynn; and his sisters, Azelle Knotts, Onetha Woodard and Ila Lovell.
He is survived by: his children, Kenneth Larry Knotts Jr. (Elizabeth Thompson) of Plattsmouth, Nebraska, Kerry Louis Knotts of Alexandria, Louisiana, Kelley Louise Ranches (Brandon) of Meadville, Mississippi and Karl Logan Knotts (Devon) of Benton, Louisiana; his grandchildren, Kathryn Lynn Knotts Simms of Pickerington, Ohio, Krista Lynn, Brandon Lee Ranches, Jr. of Meadville, Levi Michael, Jackson Logan Knotts of Benton and Chester Kenneth Thompson-Knotts of Plattsmouth; his great grandchildren, Kenna Lynn and Madilyn Ada Simms of Pickerington; and his sisters, Mary Oleta Bown of Ashland and Iva Jarriett of Ashland.
