With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Donald Ray Nelson of Castor, Louisiana, born in Ringgold, Louisiana, who passed away on May 26, 2023 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, James Russell Nelson, Sr. and Ethel Lee Nelson; and his siblings, John Nelson, Cliff Nelson, J. R. Nelson, Jr., Cotton Nelson, Irene Snead, Lavon Giddings, Eunalee Collier and Louene Pullig.

He is survived by: his wife Glenda; his daughter Elizabeth Nelson of Castor, LA; and his sister Leta Mae Spillman of Natchitoches, LA. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
