He was predeceased by: his wife Nelda Robinette Nelson; his former wife Mildred Guin Nelson; his siblings, John Nelson, Clifton Nelson, Irene Snead, Lavon Giddings, Louene Pullig, Una Lee Collier and Naomi Nelson; and his grandsons, David Colton Wafer and Riley Wayne Jinks.
He is survived by: his son Michael Nelson (Shasta) of Castor, LA; his wife Carol Jinks Nelson of Castor, LA; his daughters, Susan Warren (James) of Castor, LA and Jenifer Caskey of Castor, LA; his stepchildren, Karen Thrower (Allen) of Castor, LA and Bo Jinks (Carla) of Castor, LA; his siblings, Donald Ray Nelson (Glenda) of Castor, LA and Leta Spillman (Gene) of Natchitoches, LA; his nephew Billy Wayne Guin (Melissa) of Castor, LA; and his niece Debbie Warren (Larry) of Castor, LA. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren.
