She was predeceased by: her parents, Eddy Engler and Marguerite Martinez Duplessis; her husband Carroll John Macalusa; and her grandchildren, Angel Dugas and Blaine Patterson.

She is survived by: her daughters, Sheri (Jeff Sims), Jill (Kenny Armstrong) and Gail (Clint Patterson); her grandchildren, Cori Hanson (Brian), Keri Buhring (Beau), Ashley Coleman (Andrew), Rachel Macmurdo (Bailey), Molly Armstrong, Courtney Patterson, Jenna Patterson and Cole Patterson; and her great grandchildren, Jaime Hanson, Cora Buhring and Elijah Burhing. She is also survived by her children and grandchildren.

Donations may be made to her parish church, Magnolia Brook Assisted Living (Memory Care) in Baton Rouge, or the Alzheimer's Association.
