It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Viola Shelvin of Carencro, Louisiana, who passed away on August 22, 2021, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Antoine Shelvin and Eva Griffin; her daughters, Leola Bernard and Theresa Lindon; and her siblings, Clayton Shelvin, John Shelvin, Ematille Malbrough and Mary Bruno.
She is survived by: her children, Eva A. Etienne (David) of Lafayette, Anna Bernard of Carencro, Brenda Bernard of Carencro, Leona Bernard of Ossun, Lee Ethel Bernard of Carencro, Barbara Bernard of Carencro, Hilda Bernard of Carencro and Leroy J. Bernard of Carencro; and her brother Joseph Shelvin (Carol) of Houston, TX.. She is also survived by forty grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
