He was predeceased by: his father Joseph Charles; his stepmother Mable Batiste; and his parrain Allen Batiste. He is survived by: his mother Gustavia Marie Journet; his siblings, Jennifer Ann Stelly (Roy) of Lafayette and Ronald James Batiste (Gidget) of Lafayette; his stepsiblings, Irving Broussard and Martha Williams of Lafayette; his nieces, Hali Bernard (Chase), Rachelle Batiste and Cortney St. Julien (Darrel); his godchild Destinee Bruno; his nephew Randell Batiste; and his godmother Dorothy Bruno. He is also survived by eight great nieces and nephews.
