He was predeceased by: his stepson Eric Grice; and his great grandchildren, Jamel Jones and Asher Gore. He is survived by: his daughter Celestine Bob (Wilfred) of Lafayette; his close friend Ruby Grice of Opelousas; and his stepchildren, Marshall Grice (Lisa) of Huntsville, Raymond Grice of Opelousas, Patrick Grice of Opelousas, Anna Jane William of Tacoma and Kathleen Grice of Houston, Texas. He is also survived by twenty-four grandchildren; seventeen step grandchildren; thirty-two great grandchildren; twenty-one step great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
