He was predeceased by: his former wives, Bertha Mae Sellers and Rita Bourque; his parents, Sidney Romero and Theresa Istre; his grandson Justin Kidder; his siblings, James Romero, Roy Romero and Eva Romero; and his stepsons, Ewell Sittig, Ray Trahan and Joseph Trahan.
He is survived by: his wife Elsie Savoie of Carencro; his children, Ronald Romero (Deanna) of Scott, Robert Romero of Breaux Bridge, Mary Mae Webb (Ovile) of Lafayette, Ella Breaux (Carl) of New Iberia, Annette Romero Cormier (Raylan) of Duson and Kim Kidder of Lafayette; his siblings, Claude Romero of Lafayette, Walter Romero (Kim) of Duson, Rita R. Bourque of Youngsville, Judy R. Alleman (Terry) of Duson and Mary R. Leger of Duson; and his stepsons, Darryl Doucet (Cherrie), Floyd Bourque (Danna) and Robert Bourque (Sidney). He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; 11 great great-grandchildren; 32 step-grandchildren; 16 step great-grandchildren; and 3 step great great-grandchildren.
