Ashley John Goodie Obituary

CARENCRO ~. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, August 5, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Crossroads Church (150 Verona Dr. Lafayette, LA) for Ashley John Goodie, age 45, who passed away Monday, June 24, 2023 at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette.

Ashley was a native and lifelong resident of Carencro. He graduated from UL with a Bachelors degree in Biology and from LSU of Shreveport with a Masters in Educational Leadership. He had been employed with Carencro Middle School since 2009, his final position being Director of the Bio Med Academy. He was previously employed with Scott Middle School for a year. Ashley coached softball, flag football and basketball. He was a mentor to students and friends alike and is and will never be forgotten by those he loved.

Survivors include his wife of 19 years, Branda Sampe Goodie of Carencro; two sons, Deonta Goodie and Kamdyn Goodie, both of Carencro; three daughters, Ariana Goodie, Ariel Goodie and Aniya Goodie, all of Carencro; two grandchildren, Braylon Goodie and E.J. Smith; his parents, Robert Goodie and the former Anna Mae Gotch; one brother, Jeremy Goodie of Carencro; his parents-in-law, Jules Sampe and the former Regina Broussard of Duson; two brothers-in-law, Coty Sampe and his wife, Danielle, of Breaux Bridge and Louis Sampe of Duson; one sister-in-law, Marchella Landor-Duhon and four godchildren, Kiersten Primeaux, Malik Sampe, Morgan Smith and Rae'vyn Charlot.
