He was predeceased by: his parents, Armille Fontenot and Lucille Vidrine; and his siblings, John Irving Fontenot (Darnell), Donald S. Fontenot, Jeanita "Jane" Joubert and Neva Savoy.
He is survived by: his wife Patty Matte Fontenot of Cankton; his sons, Keith Fontenot (Sheila) of Arnaudville, Blaine Fontenot (Darla) of Baton Rouge and Troy Fontenot (Kathy) of Rayne; his brother Shirley Ray Fontenot (Mimi) of Baton Rouge; and his brother-in-law Ben Savoy of Baton Rouge. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
