It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gertrude M. Savoie (Cankton, Louisiana), who passed away on June 1, 2019, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Wilfred Savoie, Jr.; her parents, Freddie Miller and Corinne Guilbeau; and her brother Fred Allen Miller. She is survived by: her daughters, Joy S. Usie (Mike) of Sunset, Susan S. Ball (Russell) of Pearland, TX and Shelly S. Thompson (Scott Thompson) of Lafayette; her grandchildren, John Hebert (Natalie), Greg Hebert (Missy D. Hebert), Jennifer Ball Wadlington (Kyle), Will Thompson and Matthew Thompson; her great grandchildren, Avery Grace Hebert, Micah Vicente Hebert and Marshall Young Wadlington; and her siblings, Malcolm Miller (Joanna) of Opelousas and Sylvia M. Sibille. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
