He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Rubit and Sylvania Green Rubit; his siblings, Amelia Dixon, Myrtle Henry, Genevieve Rubit and Berkman Rubit; and his close friend Rita Chevalier.
He is survived by: his sister Barbara Marie Jean; his grandchild Kyle Derouselle (Monique); his great grandchild Jazz Derouselle; and his stepdaughter Natalie Myers (Forbe). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
