It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Ray Johnson of Calvin, Louisiana, born in Plain Dealing, Louisiana, who passed away on January 29, 2024, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Johnson and Ruby Johns Johnson; and his son Jerry "Twinkie" Johnson. He is survived by: his wife Roxie Strickland Johnson of Calvin, LA; his children, Terri Johnson Mercer (Jerry), Kerri Johnson McKinney (Clint), James Johnson, Jr. (Bernice), Kathy Johnson Heard (Ross), Dawn "Julie May" Johnson Tucker (Charles) and Dillan Johnson; and his brothers, Roy Johnson (Ida) and Ted Wayne Johnson. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
