She was predeceased by: her father Israel Spruell; the father of her children Thelbert White; her former husband J. R. Chenault (Dick); her daughter Betty Sue White Seidenspinner (Suzie); her son-in-law Damon Lowe; and her siblings, Florence Spruell White, Fred, James, Joe, Julius and Archie Spruell (Bug).
She is survived by: her husband John Whelan; her children, Vivian Lowe Martin (Michael), Judy Fuller, Garland White and B. J. White (Carol); and her grandchildren, Kelly White Masters (Eric), Jeffery White, Danny White (Susan), Christy Lowe, Jessica Lowe, Chad, Brad, Alan Clark (Ilse), Angie Dewerff (Geof), Randy Sturdivant, Nichole White, Billy Joe White Jr. (Cara) and Bradley Antley (Taylor). She is also survived by 38 great grandchildren and 18 great, great grandchildren.
