He was predeceased by: his wives, Dollie Guin Whelan and Jessie Marie Whelan; his sister Helen Walsh (George); and his stepdaughter Susie Seidenspinner. He is survived by: his son John Michael Whelan; his stepchildren, Vivian Martin (Michael), Judy Fuller, Jerry Guin (Anita), Garland White and B. J. White (Carol); and his sister Patti Campbell (Ted). He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
