She was predeceased by: her mother Delores Turnbow; and her brother DeWayne Brown. She is survived by: her husband John M. Smith; her daughter Kim Smith Clement (Michael); her brother Larry "Butch" Brown (Shields); her nephew Larry Brown Jr.; and her close friend JoAnn Cole.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
