He was predeceased by: his wife Yasuko Yoshida Walker; and his siblings, Mary Walker Davis and John E. Walker, Jr.. He is survived by: his children, Mary Ann Walker Patout (Roy Jr.) of St. Martinville, Louisiana, Janet Louise Walker Hanemann (Michael) of St. Martinville, Louisiana and James L. Walker, Jr. (Melinda Markham) of Holly Springs; his siblings, Edward Walker of Canton, Thomas Walker of Sanford, Maine, Barbara Walker Rose of Providence and Margaret Walker Jones of Fort McCoy, Florida; his grandchildren, Angela Cunningham, Lauren Cunningham, Mark Steven Cunningham, Jr., Genevieve Patout Thevenet, Rudy Vaca, Reynaldo Vaca, James Lawrence Walker, III, Kelsie Walker Lowe and James William Grayson Walker; and his great grandchildren, Walker Fladt, Avery, Hunter O'Dell, Zachary Price, Ryan Ransonet, Hope Cunningham, Christian, Joseph, Wesley Thevenet, Amaya, Evelyn, Mia, Donovan Vaca, Lauren, Michael and Thomas Walker.
In lieu of flowers, Jim requested that donations be made to Hospice of Acadiana in gratitude for all the care and support they provided for his family, and for families in need throughout the Acadiana Area.
