He is survived by: his wife Genie Sutton Newton; his children, Jeanette Johnston (Jeff) of Grove, OK, Melissa Mayeux (Chad) of Plaucheville, Amanda Stagg (Dusty) of Mapleton, KS and Christopher Newton of Plaucheville; his siblings, Gordon Newton (Debra) of Alexandria, Jordon Newton (Donna) of Bunkie, Sam Newton (Donna) of Evergreen, Paul Newton (Patricia) of Bunkie and Amy Newton (Chrissy) of Fredricksburg, VA; and his grandchildren, Brody Mayeux, Jozie Stagg, Kali Stagg, Gage Mayeux, Muriel Johnston, Estelle Johnston, Evie Stagg, Jimmie Thomas Johnston and Wyatt Glen Stagg.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to St. Anthony Catholic School or M.D. Anderson Hospital.
