He was predeceased by: his parents, Ozey J. Lewis, Sr. and Annie Mae Jackson Lewis. He is survived by: his spouse Alice Thompson of Bunkie; his son Wendell Lewis (Vanessa) of Mansfield, TX; his stepson John Thompson of Bunkie; his brothers, Jerome J. Lewis, Sr. (Veronica) of Alexandria, Raymond Lewis, Sr. (Jackie) of Marrero and Dexter Lewis of Harvey; and his grandchildren, Shonetelly Thompson, Lashonda Thompson, Brittany Jackson, Asani Lewis and Braylon Lewis. He is also survived by eight great grandchildren and five God children.
