It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Louella Descant of Bunkie, Louisiana, who passed away on February 24, 2025, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her daughter Roxann Fontenot Lachney; her parents, Lennie Descant and John B. Descant; and her siblings, JoAnn Fontanille, John Descant, Jr., Mary Lee Ortego and Jerry Descant.
She is survived by: her children, Debbie Yeager-Prokop (Mike) of Denham Springs, Peggy Fontenot of Denham Springs, Karen F. Manuel of Bunkie and James Fontenot (Lynn) of Bunkie; her sisters, Dorothy Aymond of Hessmer, Betty Lowery of Marksville and Patricia Guillot of Plaucheville; and her grandchildren, Cory Manuel, Chad Yeager, Tyler Fontenot, Anna Whitmore, Haas Wolff, Lucas Lachney and Amanda Fontenot. She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, March 1st 2025 from 8:00 AM to 9:45 AM at the Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home (302 St John St, Bunkie, LA 71322). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Anthonoy of Padua Catholic Church (409 St John St, Bunkie, LA 71322). A rosary will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at 6:00 PM at the Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie (302 St John St, Bunkie, LA 71322).
