He was predeceased by: his parents, John B. Descant and Lennie L. Juneau Descant; and his siblings, JoAnn Fontanille, Marilee Ortego, John Descant, Jr. and Emma Lee Descant.
He is survived by: his sisters, Dorothy Aymond of Hessmer, Louella Descant of Denham Springs, Betty Lowery of Markville and Patricia D. Guillot of Plauchevile. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.
