She was predeceased by: her father Walter Dutile; the father of her children Harry Melancon; her children, Susie Melancon Rohner and Paul Melancon; her great grandchild Ashley Cormier; her husband Avery "AJ" Girouard; and her mother Jane Dutile (Lafayette Parish Registrar).

She is survived by: her daughter Peggy Melancon Muhs; her son-in-law Eddie Rohner; her granddaughters, Suzanne Rohner Palasek (Andrew), Alaina Rohner JeanBlanc (Bret), Nessie Cormier Laviolette (Bernard), Nicolette Cormier and Noelle Cormier Brigman (Chris); her great grandchildren, Jackson Palasek, Parker JeanBlanc, Adelaide JeanBlanc, Trey Laviolette (Angelique), Jacques Laviolette, Zoe Brigman, Karsten Brigman, Kai Brigman and Aspen Brigman; her great great grandchildren, Vivian Laviolette and Luke Laviolette; and her stepchildren, Glenn Girouard, Odette Girouard Forbes and Raymond Girouard. She is also survived by 9 step-grandchildren.
