He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Saul Short, Sr. and Therese Touchet; and his siblings, Harris, Gerald Short and Vicky Short.
He is survived by: his wife Lona Short of Broussard; his children, Donald Romero (Sonya) of Duson, Corey Romero (Michelle) of Broussard and Brian Short of Carencro; his siblings, Betty Robicheaux (Ronald) of Lafayette, Louis "Butch" Short, Jr. (Maxine) of Broussard and Ricky Short (Gay) of Broussard; and his pet Dollie. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren.
