She was predeceased by: her parents, Francis Batiste and Bibiana Batiste; her husband Raymond Mercier; and her siblings, Eva Diggs, Alton Batiste, Sr. and Ernest Batiste, Sr..

She is survived by: her siblings, Vivian Lindsey (Roger Golbert) and Walter Batiste, Sr. (Mary); her brother-in-law Dr. George Diggs, Jr.; and her godchildren, Ashley Perrodin, Alton Batiste, Neal Batiste, James Mercier, Deena Simon and Bradford Landry. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
