He was predeceased by: his wife Evelyn Hayes; his parents, Thompson Hayes and Ophelia Martin Hayes; his stepson Lester Bergeron; his grandsons, Charles Hebert and Gabriel Boudreaux; and his siblings, Michael Hayes, Thelma Dupuis, Fred Hayes, Lionel Hayes, Elaine Ray, Thompson Hayes, Jr. and Jeffery Hayes.
He is survived by: his children, Christy Long (Gerald), Wallace Hayes (Sheila), Donald Hayes (Dana), Linda Bergeron, Debra Hebert and Alice Hayes. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 14th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM at the Henderson Bible Church (1045 Talley St, Breaux Bridge, LA 70517). A funeral service was held on Thursday, November 14th 2024 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, November 14th 2024 at the Henderson Bible Church Cemetery (1045 Talley St, Breaux Bridge, LA 70517).
A man known for his generosity and kind spirit, Wilven was always ready to donate his time and money to support those around him.
