He was predeceased by: his wife Mary A. Menard; his parents, Joseph Menard and Marjorie Potier Menard; and his brothers, Cleveland Menard and John A. Potier.
He is survived by: his children, Stephen Menard Jr. (Latasha), Kareem R. Menard, I and Rashawna R. Menard Hawkins (Dwayne); his grandchildren, Showndre Martinez, Jourdin Broussard, Darien Menard, Tylynn Menard, Kareem Menard, II, Laila Smith, Treselle Smith, Kylan Menard, Kamare Narcisse, Dayne Hawkins, Tyresa Menard, Madison Menard, Ry Griffen and Kyzer Green; his siblings, Gerald Menard and Linda Smith; his nephew John Menard; and his nieces, Janika Potier and Nary Smith.
