He is survived by: his children, Joseph Lionel "Butch" Sam (Emily) of Baton Rouge, Kevin James Sam (Kim) of Duson and Stacy Annette Sam (Patrick) of Houston, TX; his stepsons, Kenneth Joseph, Jr. (Trina) of Henderson and Curtis Joseph Sr. (Melissa) of Parks; and his siblings, Joseph G. Doucet of Opelousas, Derby Doucet of Opelousas, Herbert Doucet of Houston, TX, Leola Journet of Arnaudville, Ceola Leonard of Fordoche and Geraldine Doucet of Baton Rouge. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren; six great grandchildren.
