He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

““Dear Bonnie, My name is Father Wayne Duet, Pastor of St. Edward/St. Thomas Churches in Richard Louisiana. Cornel, Ricky Gott & I worked out at Red's for many years back in the day. I have many fond memories of Cornel and know he was a very good man. I won't be able to attend any of the events because it was not long ago that I fell and broke my hip and it has me down for a while. I can't walk with without assistance and of course can't drive yet. Please know that my prayers are with you.””
