It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Chaney Lea Batiste (Branch, Louisiana), who passed away on December 29, 2021, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Michael J. Batiste; and her parents, Elmae "ToTo" Young and Cleveland Yokum. She is survived by: her children, Hope Batiste (Brian) of Branch, Faith and Scoey Batiste (Shameka) of Branch; her grandchildren, Charity Bias, DaVin Bias (Paris), De'Ante Carrier, Destini Carrier, De'Vonnie Declouette, Scoey Michael Batiste and Bonus; her great grandchildren, Mya of Gianna, AJ and Jameer; her pet Drako; her siblings, Larry Young of Norfolk, VA, Jonas R. Young (Linda) of Branch, LA, Barbara Williams of Los Angeles, CA and Rhonda Guidry of Branch; and her godchildren, Trini Chevis, Lisa Wilbert and Jalaina Guidry. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
