With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Richard John Matherne of Bourg, Louisiana, born in Bayou Blue, Louisiana, who passed away on March 29, 2021 at the age of 74. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his son Jon David Matherne; his parents, Clifton Matherne and Mae Matherne; and his brothers-in-law, John Ordoyne, Silas Martin and Bobby "Black" Hotard.
He is survived by: his wife Diana Matherne; his children, Richard Joseph Matherne, Tamara Scott (Apollo) and Michaela Matherne; his grandchildren, Kortnee Devenere (Justin) and Tyler Matherne (Codi); his great grandchild Summer Grace Devenere; and his siblings, Jerry Ronquille (Janell), Marion Dufrene (Adam), Evelyn Ordoyne, Joyce Martin and Beverly Farr (Sherman).
Due to Covid, the family requests that all attendees wear masks and practice social distancing.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bayou Blue Assembly of God in Richard's honor.
