It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Jane Prosperie of Bourg, Louisiana, born in Houma, Louisiana, who passed away on May 21, 2023, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Hasley Luke Prosperie; her parents, Noah P. Matherne, Sr. and Hazel Carrere Matherne; and her siblings, Joseph Matherne, Felicia Fields and Shirley Kibodeaux.
She is survived by: her children, David Prosperie (Rhonda), Michael Prosperie (Yvonne), Carla Peeler (Ronnie) and Christine Himel (Keith); her grandchildren, Jeremy, Tobie, Jon, Christopher, Heidi, Ashli, Codey, Heather and Noah; and her sisters, Mary Ann Moreau, Anna Lee Bourg and Regina Dupre (Taylor). She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren.
