He was predeceased by: his parents, Otis Tidwell and Lydia Lackey Tidwell; his daughter Theresa Tidwell; and his siblings, Aaron Tidwell, Ancel Tidwell, Joyce Rowe and Rita Pessnell.

He is survived by: his children, James Allen Tidwell, Dennis George Tidwell and Lydia Kay Stevens; and his brother Alvis Tidwell. He is also survived by seven grandchildren.
