She was predeceased by: her parents, Travis Lawton Barksdale and Zora Wren Barksdale; her siblings, Donald Barksdale, James Barksdale (Nell), Malcolm Barksdale, Aaron Barksdale (Esther), Myrtis Bamburg (Bion) and Peggy Sheffield (Gene); her brother-in-law Clyde Sanders; and her nephews, Jerald Bamburg and Robert Sanders.

She is survived by: her son Jeffrey Scogin; her granddaughters, Piper Scogin and Darby Scogin; and her sister Margaret Sanders.
