He is survived by: his wife Nina Strain; his children, Michael Strain (Sarah Cochener) and Kristina Nix; his stepdaughter Brandy Hoffman; his sister Linda (Bruce Mullican); and his friends, Steve Pace, Sam Johnston and Lucky Rich. He is also survived by six grand children; two great-grand daughters.
