He is survived by: his close friend Connie Grzesiek; his brother Larry Simmons (Tina); his sons, Robert Simmons (Kelly) and William Simmons (Roy); his stepson Ronnie Foster; and his grandson Austin Simmons. He is also survived by three great-grandsons.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to Elm Grove Baptist Church or the Disabled Veterans of America.
