She was predeceased by: her husband Curtis Mitchel; her granddaughter Erica Byrd; her parents, Oscar Desselle and Eleanor Lemoine Desselle; and her siblings, Clifford of James Oscar, Jode, Sr., Lloyd, Cleo, Raymond Desselle, Leona Laborde, Inez Desselle, Audrey Coco and Louise Arnouville.
She is survived by: her children, Ronald Mitchel (Denise), Rebecca Byrd (Bobby), Warren Mitchel (Rochelle) and Christal Davis (Kevin); and her brother Wayne Desselle (Connie). She is also survived by her 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
