It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ruth Platter (Bogalusa, Louisiana), born in Sumrall, Mississippi, who passed away on March 20, 2021, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her son Jeffery Meekins; her parents, Hattie Mask Johnson (Lee) and Otis Johnson; her stepmother Annie Johnson; and her siblings, Burtile Johnson, Lucille Samuels, Dorothy Upshaw, Aaron Johnson and Willie Johnson.
She is survived by: her children, Llyod Meekins, Brenda Meekins and Paulette Coleman (Meekins); and her siblings, Ketta Levy (Johnson), Vita Johnson, James Johnson, Joseph Johnson, Hardy Johnson and Charles Johnson. She is also survived by her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren.
