She was predeceased by: her husband Willie Lamar Byrd; her parents, Dave Thomas and Saleta "Lettie" Haley Thomas; her siblings, H. P., David, Royce, Vernon Thomas, Edith Dupuy, Oudia Thomas, Veda Vaughn and Betty Jo Breath; her parents-in-law, Evie Byrd Blackwell and Willie Cook Byrd; and her son-in-law Lawrence Mikeska.
She is survived by: her children, Willie Cook Byrd (Glenda), Kathy Mikeska and Shirley Lewis (Dane); her grandchildren, Joel Byrd (Paula), Lesley Galloway (Will) and Kory Magee (Matt); her great grandchildren, Sarah Beth Byrd, Graham Rhoden and Nora Kate Rhoden; her siblings-in-law, Genevieve Thomas and Charlie Breath; and her caregivers, Sissy Edwards, Karen Fisher, Jackie Fussell, Leslie Hirstius, Jewel Miller and Dr. Ellie Lomzenski. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
