He was predeceased by: his parents, Eli Cantrell and Nellie Cantrell; his wife Barbara Boyd Cantrell; his daughter Barbara Gayle Cantrell; his grandson Richard Wayne Pierce; and his siblings, Charles Rhae, James Grey, Malcolm Vaughn, Robert Eli, Loyd Nelson, Joseph Larry Cantrell, Marian Elizabeth Jones, Mary Louise Raborn and Dorothy Nell Bergeron.
He is survived by: his son Paul Douglas Cantrell (Jenny); his grandchildren, James Pierce, Ashley Boudreaux (Brad), Megan Tykol (Justin), Mandie, Julianne and Dante Cantrell (Kaylee); his great grandchildren, Arielle, Grace and Paul Pierce; his grandchildren, Jax, Wyatt Boudreaux, Reid and Austin Tykol; and his great great grandchild Atticus Pierce. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
