He was predeceased by: his son Gregory Lavell Crain; his parent Van Nick Crain (Isabel); and his sisters, Eurena Stogner (Curt), Eva Mae Miley (Julious), Athalee Williams (Merion) and Azzie Crain.
He is survived by: his daughters, Cecilia Blackwell (Ed) and Sharon Creel (James Ray); his daughter-in-law Sedean Mizell Crain; his sons, Duane Nobles and Christopher Nobles; his brothers, H. L. Crain (Charlene), Arnold "Pete" Crain (Brenda) and Louis Ray "Luke" Crain (Lisa); his siblings-in-law, Betty Crain, Carol Baughman, Sylvia Johnson, Gloria Lupo and Jesse Williams (Sarah); his brothers, Hubert Crain (Elgie), Bufford Crain, Eufford Crain (Claire) and Houston Crain; and his brother-in-law Allen Johnson. He is also survived by Numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
