She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Author Ray "Dutch" and Maxine Anstead (Durbin); her brother Samuel Author "S. A."; her husband Jan Adams; her daughter Gina Laird (Giacone); her granddaughter Brooke Laird; her son Joseph Giacone; and her grandchildren, Sarah Giacone, Joe Adams, Jeff, Thomas, Avery, Hayden Adams, Jana Norwood, Michael Dunn, Harlan, Jon and Aceley Adams.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Valette's name to Blueberry Hill, the Alzheimer's Association, or ESM Methodist Church.
