Johnny Earl Sandifer Obituary
Johnny Earl Sandifer (Bogalusa, Louisiana), passed away at the age of 71, on May 22, 2019, from colon cancer linked to Agent Orange.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Bowman Sandifer of over 42 years , of New Orleans, and their 3 children Johnny Sandifer, Jamie Sandifer , and Sandra Kutner.
His 2 children from Lisa Gonzales Lopez: Justin Gonzales (Nikki) and Aaron Gonzales Thomas; and his 3 children from Denise Dean : Angela Dean, Sabri Dean Authement and Gavin Dean.
his total 8 grandchildren: John-Paul Burglass and Cynthia Burglass Holmberg, Greyden Kutner, Justin Matthew Gonzales Jensen Gonzales and Amelia Gonzales, Michael Urquhart and Adorn Urquhart ,
and his only 2 great grandchildren, Immanuel Holmberg and Isaac John Holmberg.
He is also survived by brother Ronnie Sandifer and sister Burnettie Chiro.
Proceeded in death by his parents, Jim G. Sandifer and Dorothy M. Miley, both from Pine, La., and his infant son, Johnny Earl Sandifer Jr.
Johnny , 100% DAV, served two tours in the United States Army during 68-70 , ground combat in the war of Vietnam, in Pleiku, Da Nang, Combodia, & Saigon, during which he was a machine gun operator on the gun truck “ King of the Hill”, as well as was deployed in special operations.
Johnny was an extremely talented Hot Rod restorative mechanic and body man, as well as very knowledgeable with Harley Davidsons, being well known for his extensive wisdom on cars & motorcycles.
Many people gave him the beloved and well suited nick name, John the Baptist, for his dedication in always humbly preaching the gospel, his passion for the Lord, and his long beard and hair. If you knew him, or heard of him, this was always the first thing to come to mind , he absolutely loved the Lord , and could talk for hours with the greatest smile, while telling others about the love of a Jesus, who he credited for his survival in the War and all blessings.
Johnny was a very dedicated family man, the best father, and best friend one could ever ask for. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
