John Lamar Fortenberry Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John Lamar Fortenberry of Bogalusa, Louisiana, who passed away on April 11, 2023 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James "Red" Fortenberry and Gabe Ellen Herring Fortenberry; his sisters, Charlie Mae "Pee Wee" (Harold Reid) and Alice Rose (R. C. Newman); and his great grandchild Faith Marie Fortenberry.
He is survived by: his wife Sherry Varnado Fortenberry; his daughters, Kimberly Barkman and Kristy; his son-in-law Ricky; his grandchildren, Danny, Matthew Sardone of John, Jonus McNabb, Erik Dudley Fortenberry, Skylar and Dakota Cox; his great grandchildren, Destiny, Ryleigh, Lily, Luna, Hailey and Gianna; his brother Charles "Dobb"; and his sister-in-law Vangie Fortenberry.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mr. John's memory to the youth department at Ben's Ford Baptist Church or Monroe Street Baptist Church.
