It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gordon Mitchell Lavinghouze of Bogalusa, Louisiana, who passed away on October 10, 2024, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Gordon P. Lavinghouze and Ruby Lee Lavinghouze; his wife Johnnie Mitchell Lavinghouze; his son Robin Carroll Lavinghouze; and his son-in-law Clifton W. Heard.
He is survived by: his children, Ole Miss, Kristina and Deborah Lee Heard of Madison, MS; his granddaughter Kristina Leigh Heard of Madison, MS; his son Steven Mitchell Lavinghouze (Laura) of Flowood, MS; his grandson John Matthew "Matt" McGraw (Caity); his family Betty May; his son Kevin May; his caregiver Mindy; his cousin Ashley Ogden; his grandchildren, Jacky Burney of Clinton, MS, Richard Flynt of Germantown, TN, Ray Pickering of Madison, MS, Tom Cook of Madison, MS, Langston Rogers of Oxford, MS and Marlin Raines of Madison, MS.; and also, Sharon Lawless of Houston, TX, Ashley Ogden (Christi) of Jackson, MS, Brooke Emerson, James Ashley, Ranger Colton, Anita Greene, Pam Smith, Terry, Ann Finley and Karen Stubbs.
